Healthcare workers are constantly at the frontlines trying to stay abreast of arising medical conditions and scientific research that continuously evolves. The Pandemic along with “Dr. Google” has either hailed doctors and nurses as heroes or made them vulnerable to abuse in public and/or private sectors. Mistrust in the healthcare system has been leading to different levels of harassment of healthcare workers that are already struggling. What are you to do if you’re caught in this double-edged sword?
This blog offers tips on what do to if you are faced with harassment:
- Find out where it’s coming from (is it random; is it just a bad day?). Get to the source.
- If you are feeling down and can’t shake it off – GET support; lean on the three Fs (friends, family and faith).
- Reach out and talk to others; open up to administrators, other staff members, get patients’ stance on issues.
For more details you can listen to this episode of Licensed To Live.
It is imperative to find and develop a community that will allow you to come together. Create your support system BUT most importantly don’t stay in a place if you are abused. If you are ready to make a lasting change and don’t know where to begin? Be sure to reach out and set up a strategy session at www.timewithdoctorjarret.com and tell me all about it.
